Overview

Beagles are the most popular hound dog to have as a pet in the United States, and their popularity is understandable. Their always cheerful and friendly demeanor makes humans fall in love with them, and they are also known widely as great rabbit hunting dogs. Beagles also come in two varieties: under 13 inches or between 13 and 15 inches, but both types are equally strong and dutiful. Beagles do not do well left alone since they are used to hunting in packs, so it is best for them to have a companion at all times, whether this is another dog or a human companion. Luckily, they get along great with other dogs, children, and families.
